An Urhobo community leader, Comrade Kelvin Fovie has cautioned critics to stop attacking Chief Government Ekpemuplo alias Tompolo, and Tantita Security Services Limited over the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to the indigenous security company.
Fovie, is an opinion leader in Ughevwughe Community in OML34, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State.
He said, “ I read how some mischievous elements have been making malicious comments against Chief Government Ekpemuplo alias Tompolo, and Tantita Security Services Limited because of the pipeline surveillance contract. The Urhobo Host Communities are benefitting from Tantita. Also, Tantita employed thousands of Urhobo youths being paid monthly salary”
Fovie continued, “ The Federal Government and Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited NNPCL awarded the pipeline surveillance to Tantita based on merit, expertise and capacity to handle the project, it has nothing to do with ethnicity”
He warned that nobody should instigate disunity between Ijaws and Urhobo because of the pipeline surveillance contract, adding that Tantita is doing very well.
“ I am glad that Tantita Security Services Limited TSSSL employed Urhobo youths across OML34. So, I am fully supporting Tantita because they are doing the right thing. I want to appeal to those attacking Tompolo and Tantita to desist from such unpatriotic act”
According to him, those who wants or demanding to get pipeline contracts is their rights, however they should apply to Federal Government and NNPCL and stop attacking Tompolo and Tantita unnecessarily.
Fovie commended Tantita for doing good job securing the pipelines and assets, and also for employing Urhobo youths to executive the project.
“ Nobody, I say it again, should use the pipeline surveillance contract to divide Urhobo and Ijaw. Tantita Security Services Limited belong to an Ijaw man, who after getting the contract did the needful by subletting to Urhobo indigenes and also employing Urhobo youths to benefit in the pipeline surveillance contract”
